UTICA, N.Y.– On Tuesday, the Utica Blue Sox announced the signing of Alex Canino.
The South Carolina native has never been to upstate New York before. However he is excited to spend the summer there playing baseball and meeting new people.
Canino originally wasn’t even planning on playing baseball in the summer. “I was actually just going to work during the summer and save up rent money.” However one of his coaches at Limestone University told him about an opportunity to play in Utica, which proved to be an offer too good to pass up.
Canino is hoping that his positive attitude can be a benefit to the group, saying, “When I’m not pitching and I’m in the dugout I’ll just be as positive as I can. Helping guys out and stuff.”
