UTICA, N.Y.- The Utica Blue Sox announced on Tuesday the signing of RHP Nick Davis for the 2022 season. This will be his first year as a member of the Blue Sox.
Davis hails from Woodbridge, Virginia where he attended two high schools, Forest Park and Highland. While there he made Second Team All-Region twice. He is now a junior at Roanoke College in Virginia where he has served as their setup-man out of the bullpen.
Davis has been playing baseball most of his life, heavily influenced by his father who played in both the Mets and Astros organizations. When asked about the influence his father had on him, he responded, “It’s invaluable, the information and the confidence he has been able to bestow upon me. I think that he has been able to instill the drive to work and become better at baseball. You never know when your last game is going to be and I work hard every day to make sure it isn’t today”.
Davis is very excited to join the Blue Sox this summer. Hearing about the league from an assistant coach, he jumped at the opportunity to participate in the PGCBL and was drawn to the atmosphere and drive of the Utica organization. “I am excited for it, just two to three months of locking in and working on baseball, it’s exciting”.
