It may not seem like baseball season in Utica just yet,  but Blue Sox players are getting into the beginning of their college seasons.

This week’s big highlight came from Georgia Highland sophomore outfielder Malik Spratling. The sophomore crushed two home runs against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on March 6, which helped lead his team to a 9-5 win. Later in the week he went 2-4 with two RBIs in a 6-5 comeback over the same team.

Umass Lowell DH/1B Andrew Roden had a impressive series at George Washington. In three games he had four hits, three runs scored and four RBIs. The freshman out of VVS high school is riding a six-game hit streak.

St. Petersburg pitcher Dalton O’Boyle pitched a strong 5 2/3 innings at Polk State College, giving up only three earned runs while striking out seven.
