April has begun, and many Utica Blue Sox’ players are catching their stride at baseball programs across the country. Here are some highlights from this past week:

Central Alabama CC 2B Luis Deleon was having a solid year and putting up decent number before his teams series against Southern Union State CC. After that series Deleon’s numbers skyrocketed. He is now batting .320 on the season and has a on base percentage of .420. This week Deleon was nearly unstoppable. The infielder went 8 for 14 with five runs scored and two stolen bases, helping his team win three of four against Southern Union State CC.

  • Andrew College sophomore Brenton Phillips hit his first Home Run of the season this weekend and added six more hits. He is now batting .302 on the season.
