UTICA, NY–The Utica Blue Sox announced this week that Beaumont, TX and San Jacinto college LHP Aaron Sheldon is the newest summer 2022 roster addition for the Blue Sox.

Sheldon is looking to take advantage of the opportunities and circumstances with which he was presented, stating that “I’ve always enjoyed throwing, and lefties are always limited in terms of the positions they can play, so in high school, I hung up hitting and started pitching.”

Sheldon also touched on how much he was looking forward to the challenge of playing in an entirely new environment, saying that “I really have no experience with New York. I have been to New York [New York City, that is] when I was younger, but that’s about it.” Sheldon is another example of this trend which has been rather common in most of Utica’s newcomers this season. Sheldon also demonstrated  how excited he was for the season as a whole, saying that “I’m just excited to play a bunch of innings, and this is a great place to do it.” As a pitcher, Sheldon said he “likes to attack hitters” and “keep guys off balance”. He noted that Blue Sox fans can expect “100% out of me every game and every day.”
