UTICA, N.Y.- The American Cancer Society and the Utica Blue Sox are proud to put on the 4th Annual Pink the Park game on July 23rd at 6:45 as the Blue Sox host the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs at Murnane Field.
The Blue Sox will again be sporting special pink uniforms, which will be auctioned off during the game. Fans will have a chance to bid on their favorite player’s jersey to take home, with all proceeds being donated directly to the American Cancer Society.
Cancer survivors will receive free admission to the ball game, and will be recognized prior to the opening pitch.
Senior Development Manager for the American Cancer Society Robert Elinskas had this to say about the event:
“Pink the Park has become a wonderful way for us to celebrate local breast cancer survivors and raise critical funds for our programs of breast cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services.” He also said “We’re excited to have Pink the Park back again this year. We’re so proud this has become a signature game for the Utica Blue Sox and a great night of raising awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer.”
The Blue Sox are extremely excited to have the opportunity to once again host Pink the Park and hope to see you at the ballpark on July 23rd.
