UTICA, N.Y.- The Kelberman Center and the Utica Blue Sox are proud to be teaming up this summer to put on Autism Acceptance Night on June 24th, where the Blue Sox will be taking on the Elmira Pioneers at 6:45pm at Murnane Field.
The goal of this game is to not just bring awareness, but to encourage acceptance. The Blue Sox will be wearing special themed uniforms sponsored by the Kelberman Center, which will be auctioned off during the game. All proceeds made from this auction will go directly to the Kelberman Center.
Autism Acceptance Night will also include a multitude of events to show support for the Kelberman Center, and grow acceptance throughout our community. The Kelberman Center is the leading provider of autism services for children, adults and families in the Mohawk Valley and Central New York. Offering comprehensive programming and services for people throughout all phases of life. Their goal is to meet people and families where they are in life and to support them every step of the way on their journeys navigating autism. The expert staff at The Kelberman Center empower the people they support with specialized, one-of-a-kind programs, resources, support and wrap-around services, creating a fulfilling, life-enriching experience for people and families.
The Kelberman Center Executive Director Tara Costello said, “The Kelberman Center is very excited to be teaming with the Utica Blue Sox for an Autism Acceptance Night, where families and friends of the agency and community members as a whole can come together to support our local team while also celebrating and promoting autism acceptance. It is important for events like this to take place because seeing prominent role models within our community rallying behind autism acceptance at an entertaining event such as this is empowering for our families. We thank the Utica Blue Sox for giving us this opportunity!”
The Blue Sox are extremely excited to have the opportunity to host Autism Acceptance night, and we hope to see you at the ballpark on June 24th.
