Blue Sox Sign Righty From New Jersey to 2022 Roster

Breaking News

UTICA, NY–The Utica Blue Sox have announced the signing of Nick Casaleggio, a pitcher from Bergen Community College.

The pitcher began at Rutgers-Newark University and transferred to Bergen after one year because of COVID complications. The righty will play his remaining two years of college ball at Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Casaleggio is going into this summer season with a big focus on improving his velocity. “I know there’s some things I can do mechanically to help myself, as well as getting stronger in the weight room,” the pitcher said.

Upstate New York is unfamiliar territory for Casaleggio, but he says he’s looking forward to playing with a new group of guys as well as reuniting with former teammate Derek Langfelder. “It’s going to be very exciting actually, I’ve never gone away for summer ball…we’ll both be in it together,” Casaleggio said.
