UTICA, N.Y.– The Utica Blue Sox has announced the signing of Lukas Schramm.
Schramm graduated mid year but is still playing out his senior year at Pro5 in Raleigh. The skilled outfielder has his sights set on the upcoming Blue Sox season and getting a taste of college level baseball.
Like many other players on the Blue Sox roster, Schramm found out he was going to spend his summer in Utica from his coaches. The North Carolina native has never been too far away from home by himself, but he sees this as another opportunity.
“I’m also sort of eager to get the experience away from home…In some ways it’s a little nerve wracking but at the same time it’s really exciting.”
Schramm believes he can bring a lot to the table saying,“I think I’m a big energy giver, I like to play the game hard. With some of the experiences I’ve had in the past I’ve really adopted the mentality of playing like every game is your last.”
