UTICA, N.Y.– The Utica Blue Sox announced the signing of catcher and future Kentucky Wildcat, Brandyn Durand.
Durand will be finishing up his senior year of high school and looking forward to spending the summer in Utica, getting some college level experience before heading to Kentucky for the 2022/23 year.
The Massachusetts native chose the Blue Sox in order to face a challenge and show his skill set playing against experienced collegiate players.
Durand does not believe his age is an issue, saying “We’re all going to compete for spots..If the other guys are on and I’m not then it’s his spot, if I’m on and he’s not it’s my spot. The main goal is to help the organization win a championship.”
“We’re gonna help each other out, we’re gonna push each other and make each other better. I feel like that’s the type of environment that we can build.”
