UTICA, N.Y.—The Utica Blue Sox announced on Tuesday the promotion of Jack Angelucci to Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations. He is entering his second season with the organization.
Angelucci, a native of nearby New Hartford, was the Co-Director of Communications last season, splitting the play-by-play duties on the Blue Sox Radio Network with Joe Puccio. The New Hartford High School grad will take on full-time play-by-play duties for all Utica home games and select road games/playoff games for the 2022 season.
Angelucci is currently finishing up his last semester at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pa. He will be graduating in May with a degree in Integrated Media and Strategic Communications with a minor in Sports Studies. Angelucci is also a member of Mercyhurst’s Men’s Golf team, being a captain for the last two seasons.
With the promotion Angelucci’s duties outside of broadcasting will include overseeing all social media, handing major press releases for the team’s website, handling all media requests for players and coaches, and conducting pregame and postgame interviews with Blue Sox personnel. He will also be in charge of any other miscellaneous communications issues that arise.
“I am really excited to take the next step with the Blue Sox. My first season with the organization was one I will never forget and I cannot thank Juliano Macera and George Deak enough for trusting me to take the reins for everything communications related for the team. We have some special things planned for this year.”, said Angelucci.
The Blue Sox open up their home schedule on June 4, with tickets on sale now.
Angelucci can be reached for any Blue Sox media inquiries at [email protected].
