By Sean O’malley │ Utica Blue Sox Communications Assistant
The Utica Blue Sox have named Jack Angelucci Director of Communications for the 2021 season. Angelucci will serve as the play-by-play broadcaster for all Blue Sox’ home games this upcoming summer, while also assisting in social media, marketing and public relations efforts for the organization as a whole. Angelucci will be splitting the responsibilities of this role with Syracuse freshman and former New Hartford alum Joe Puccio.
Angelucci is currently a junior at Mercyhurst University majoring in Integrated Media and Strategic Communications. On campus, Angelucci works as a Sports Information intern for Mercyhurst athletics, where he works games, writes press releases, and assists in public relations efforts of multiple athletic programs at the school.
The 20-year-old also serves as a broadcaster for numerous Mercyhurst teams, including basketball and hockey. Angelucci is also a member of Mercyhurst’s men’s golf program.
Angelucci first entered the broadcasting field through calling high school athletic contests at New Hartford High School’s NHCR, a school-sponsored student-run radio station.
The 2021 Utica Blue Sox season is set to start on June 3. Stay tuned to UticaBlueSox.net for more information regarding season tickets and the 2021 schedule.
