UTICA, N.Y.– The Utica Blue Sox have announced the signing of Brady Short, a Hurley, New York native. With two older brothers also playing baseball, baseball is in his DNA. Avery is a pitcher for Belmont-Abbey College, and Zach plays for the Detroit Tigers.
Short had the opportunity to play for his old summer league team, however he ended up being persuaded by his coach and former Blue Sox player, Franklin Jennings. Stressing the fact that the coaching staff at Central Connecticut State University do a good job of putting players places where they have the best chance to succeed. Ultimately Jennings and Short decided that place was Utica.
“The goal of summer ball…is obviously to get better, but also meet a good group of guys, hopefully win a lot of games, and the end result hopefully is a championship”
