UTICA, NY–The Utica Blue Sox announced Tuesday that Huxley, Iowa native and Valparaiso University catcher Kade Reinertson is the newest addition to the Utica roster for the summer.
Reinertson, a sophomore at Valparaiso, has enjoyed solid success in his career thus far, especially in high school, where he garnered second team All-State and first team All-Conference honors in 2019. He aims to carry that success into both his collegiate and PGCBL endeavors with the Sox.
Reinertson made it immediately clear that he was ready for whatever challenges would face him next, and felt he had an advantage because of the cross-country move he made to get to Valpo. That experience would help him prepare for the move to New York for the summer. On the subject, Reinertson said, “some of my teammates went up there [to Utica] and had a very successful summer, so I’m excited to try to repeat that.”
Reinertson also hinted at his excitement for the move to Utica, saying that being so far away from home, 18 hours to be exact, will provide “a new challenge that will be exciting to face.” Blue Sox fans should be excited about his arrival, as he is entirely committed to the team, the fans, and the community, and will give 100% effort to the cause. On this, he noted, “the fans can expect 100% effort from me, I’ll give it my all on and off the field.”
