UTICA, N.Y. – The Utica Blue Sox announced the signing of Luke Odden, a freshman from Wabash Valley College where he is currently focusing on business and plans to major in business in the future. Odden is an infielder from Phoenix, AZ. In high school Odden attended Brophy College Prep also located in Phoenix, AZ.

Odden is just beginning his collegiate career and he hopes that he will be able to move up and advance to higher levels of play. Currently he plays at a Junior college but his ultimate goal is to get himself to a point where he can play at school he wants to be at throughout his career, hopefully DI ball.

Oden began playing baseball around six years old. His parents encouraged him to play as many sports as he could around that time. But, it was his uncle who really got him into the game. Odden said his uncle has two sons who played baseball at the collegiate level, and he was the one who pushed him to become better at the game. Even turning Odden into the switch hitter he is today.

After college Odden wants to continue to pursue baseball for as long as he can. But after baseball he hopes to go into financial advising, with the goal of owning his own firm one day.

Odden said that what he was looking for in a summer league was not only somewhere with a high level of competition but also a place he can have fun and enjoy his summer. After talking with the Blue Sox he thought this was a perfect opportunity to do both, and he is very excited to get here, compete and enjoy his summer in Utica.
