Breaking News

UTICA, N.Y. – The Utica Blue Sox announced Saturday the signing of Bryce Brownlee, a freshman at Army West Point Military Academy. Brownlee is a 6 foot right handed pitcher from Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Brownlee is currently studying civil engineering, and plans to someday obtain a masters degree in engineering management with hopes of owning his own engineering firm in the future.

While Brownlee does have hopes of playing professional Baseball after finishing his bachelor’s degree he is required to serve five years as a commissioned officer in the United States Army. Where he plans to serve in air defense artillery.

In high school Brownlee was a two time all conference player, a top 5 ranked pitcher in all of Arizona, and a golden spikes award recipient. As well as helping his team to their best record in school history, and winning the first conference title.

Brownlee chose Utica for the chance to explore a part of the world he’s never seen before, as well as being relatively close to some friends and family. He is very excited to get here and meet some new people, and play competitive baseball all summer.
