What is Blue Sox Academy?

Blue Sox Academy is the premiere baseball and softball training facility in Central New York located in the Sangertown Square Mall in New Hartford. Founded by Blue Sox owner George Deak, head coach Doug Delett and general manager Cooper Deck in October 2020, this state-of-the-art facility includes two 70-foot batting cages, a Blue Sox pro shop, lounge area for parents, changing rooms and much more.

What does Blue Sox Academy offer?

Blue Sox Academy offers the best and most experienced instructors in the Mohawk Valley, including Blue Sox head coach Doug Delett, long time American Legion Baseball Coach Mike Macchione, and former Syracuse University softball assistant coach, Brian Ingalls. Our flexible schedule ensures that you will be able to find a time that fits best for you:

Monday-Friday: 3 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Saturday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Sunday: 11:00 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Where is Blue Sox Academy?

Blue Sox Academy is located in the Sangertown Square Mall in New Hartford directly across from Hollister and right next to Cooperstown Connection. The best entrance to use is Home Goods, which is located on the Commercial Drive-side of the mall.

Does Blue Sox Academy only offer lessons?

No. Blue Sox Academy offers hitting leagues, camps, clinics and showcases throughout the calendar year. Stay tuned to UticaBlueSox.net for the most up to date Blue Sox Academy schedule.

 

How To Book a Lesson with a Caddy

To schedule an appointment with a caddy you must see what dates & times are available for this type of lesson. Once you have created an account you can login in to start booking. Follow the steps below to book an appointment with a caddy.

  1.  Go to your home page.
  2.  Click on the blue box that indicates the available appointment you wish to schedule (Baseball House Instructor or Softball House Instructor). Click on the Schedule Appointment button. Select the appointment type (Caddy Service), duration, and family member. Click the Add to Cart button and proceed with payment.
  3.  Once payment has been received you will be booked for the time selected.

To view the monthly availability for an instructor

Click the “Schedule Appointment” box on the home page. Select the month/year, family member, appointment category (Baseball/Softball Lesson & Caddy Service), appointment type (Caddy Service), any instructor (or a specific instructor) and duration. This will allow you to see the monthly availability for the instructor you choose. Once you click on the time you want, it will add the appointment to your cart. Once payment has been received your appointment will be scheduled.

How to use a Package with a Caddy Service

Blue Sox Academy offers packages to save money on cage rentals. You must choose the package under  “Cage Rentals in order for the package credits to be applied to the appointment category and appointment type labeled “Caddy Service”. These credits cannot be applied to any other rentals or services. On the “Package” page you can view your purchase history and see how many credits you have available and how many you have used.

 

How To Book a Lesson with an Academy House Instructor (Baseball / Softball / Evaluation)

To schedule an appointment with an academy house instructor you must see what dates & times are available for this type of lesson. Once you have created an account you can login in to start booking. Follow the steps below to book an appointment with an academy house instructor.

  1.  Go to your home page.
  2.  Click on the blue box that indicates the available appointment you wish to schedule (Baseball House Instructor or Softball House Instructor). Click on the Schedule Appointment button. Select the appointment type (Private Lesson with Baseball House Instructor or Private Lesson with Softball House Instructor), duration, and family member. Click the Add to Cart button and proceed with payment. These lessons are made available based on the instructors work schedule. Baseball lessons are available when John Franchi is scheduled to work and Softball lessons are available when Jill Lindig is scheduled to work.
  3.  Once payment has been received you will be booked for the time selected.

These credits cannot be applied to any other rentals or services. On the “Package” page you can view your purchase history and see how many credits you have available and how many you have used.

***Please note that the Academy House Instructor includes the instructor fee and the cage rental fee. This is 1 price for the whole lesson.

 

How To Book a Lesson with a Professional Instructor (Baseball / Softball)

To schedule an appointment with a professional instructor you must see what dates & times are available for this type of lesson. Once you have created an account you can login in to start booking. Follow the steps below to book an appointment with a professional instructor.

  1.  Go to your home page.
  2.  Click on the blue box that indicates the available appointment you wish to schedule (Delett, Macchione, Lamborn, Stamboly [Baseball] or Ingalls, Seidel [Softball]). Click on the Schedule Appointment button. Select the appointment type (Cage 1 or 2 – Baseball/Softball), duration, and family member. Click the Add to Cart button and proceed with payment. These lessons are made available based on the instructors available schedule.

To view the monthly availability for a professional instructor

Click the “Schedule Appointment” box on the home page. Select the month/year, family member, appointment category (Baseball/Softball Lesson & Caddy Service), appointment type ( Cage 1 or 2 – Baseball/Softball), any instructor (or a specific instructor) and duration. This will allow you to see the monthly availability for the instructor you choose. Once you click on the time you want, it will add the appointment to your cart. Once payment has been received your appointment will be scheduled.

How to use a Package with a Professional Instructor

***Please note that the Professional Instructor charges a separate fee for their services. The cage rental prices and packages only pays for the cage rentals.

All clients will need to have a BLUE SOX ACADEMY WAIVER AND RELEASE FORM on file in order to use the facility. We have forms available at the Academy. Anyone under 18 years old will need a parent signature, 18 and older can sign for themselves.
