Utica Blue Sox Returning Players

The Utica Blue Sox welcome back five players to join them for the 2017 PGCBL season. All six players were a part of the team for last years come-from-behind win in a deciding Game 3 against Elmira to clinch the Western Division title. From Long Island Post, pitcher, Bryan Kavanaugh will be back on the squad in an effort to claim the Eastern Division title.

Sophomore Ryan Green, currently enrolled at Niagara Community College, will rejoin the Blue Sox as well this season. Green's hometown is Penfield, NY where he displayed his talents as a pitcher and will look to take on a bigger role this year as a more experienced player.

Robbie Young will be back in the infield wearing #1 on his back. Currently enrolled at Garden City Community College as a sophomore, Young resides in Tennessee and is a fan of Jason Aldean. Still in the infield, junior Hunter Losekamp from Huntington University will be returning to the Utica Blue Sox. Last season Losekamp batted .264, brought in 11 RBI’s and caught for Utica.

Lastly, powerhouse Taylor Olmstead will be back with the Utica Blue Sox as an outfielder. Olmstead led the Sox in RBI’s and batted .306, which was third best for his team. He also led the league with seven triples in his outstanding 2016 season.
