BLUESOX INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Interested in Becoming a Member of the Blue Sox Baseball Club?

The Utica Blue Sox internship program gives college students who aspire to work in sports the opportunity to get hands on experience with all aspects of baseball organization. This program is open to students who are entering their sophomore, junior, senior or graduate years of study at a college or university. An internship with the Blue Sox enables students to gain up close and personal experience that they would not get with a larger organization. The description below offers a general overview of the positions offered for our internship program, but we are currently accepting all applications for all areas of operation with the organization. The Blue Sox season runs from June through the middle of August.

Staff Writer

Interview Blue Sox players, coaches, and personnel for articles to be published on uticabluesox.net
Write press releases to be sent to local media following Blue Sox home games
Create fun, creative, and original content that attracts fans to come to Blue Sox games, Blue Sox Academy
Create content that connects the reader with the topic
Assist in creating content for Blue Sox social media outlets
Complete other tasks as assigned by the General Manager and Directors of Communications

Social Media/Content Creation

Create original content that appeals to the Blue Sox fanbase
Expand and monitor the Blue Sox social media outreach
Post content in a timely and professional manner
Assist with Blue Sox game days and create engaging content for a variety of audiences and reasons
Assist with various tasks as assigned by the General Manager

Producer

Oversee the production of the Blue Sox radio broadcast
Work directly with the Blue Sox play by play announcer and color commentator to create a professional broadcast
Assist in creating content for the Blue Sox broadcast
Assist with various tasks as assigned by the General Manager and the Directors of Communications

Marketing and Sales

Assist in selling sponsorships and tickets
Create marketing plans for Blue Sox games throughout the summer
Make sales calls to establish leads and answer questions
Provide exemplary customer service
Assist with various marketing and sales efforts as assigned by the General Manager and Director of Marketing and Sales

Operations

Setup and breakdown for Blue Sox home games
Assist in the activation of on-field sponsorship
Perform various tasks as assigned by the General Manager

Stats and Data

Maintain and update spreadsheets on Blue Sox collegiate stats throughout the spring
Assist the Blue Sox coaching staff in completing player reports to be sent to collegiate coaches
Maintain stats and records on opposing teams and players within the PGCBL at the request of the Blue Sox coaching staff
Operate Rapsodo technology and maintain organized records
Assist with various tasks as assigned by the General Manager

On-Field Personality

Serve as the on-field host for between inning contests at Blue Sox home games
Create content for Blue Sox social media channels and to be published on uticabluesox.net
Assist with various tasks as assigned by the General Manager and the Directors of Communications

Sport Photographer

Take still and action shots of the Blue Sox players and staff during home games
Take photos of Blue Sox fans and Murnane Field to be used on social media
Assist in creating content for Blue Sox social media and uticabluesox.net

Videographer/Content Creation

Shoot footage during Blue Sox home games to be used on social media and uticabluesox.net
Assist in creating content for Blue Sox social media and uticabluesox.net
